We’ve seen a lot of mouse makers over the years take interesting twists and
turns with their gaming mice, but Shogun Bros.’ Chameleon X-1 ($55;
precision tracking; five-stage adjustable dpi reaching 1,600dpi) may just
take the cake where originality is concerned. Set for availability in Q1
2011, the wireless X-1 looks normal enough from a top view, building
seven buttons and a scroll wheel into its tasty cherry-red exterior. Flip
the rodent over, however, and you’ll discover a 14-button gamepad on
the bottom ready for Windows-compatible PC gaming. Further, the
Chameleon can also function as a multimedia/presenter remote. The
question remaining is how well the Chameleon will perform.
